Special Session 2: Internet of things for smart agriculture powered by renewable power energy systems
Faced with the strong demand for fresh water and the growing scarcity of water resources, it is therefore urgent to find new solutions for the efficient management of water resources. To meet this challenge, an intelligent irrigation system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) technique and machine learning (ML) methods is being developed for precision agriculture. Additionally, the need to eliminate fossil fuels from feeding irrigation systems cannot be overstated due to climate change. Smart irrigation systems powered by renewable energy sources (RES) have been shown to dramatically improve crop yields and the profitability of agriculture. This system can be achieved using sensors and environmental data from an Internet of Everything (IoE). This special issue aims to explore advances in AI-based tools and techniques for smart agriculture powered by renewable energy sources (RES). Topics of interest for the special issue include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Precision agriculture based on AI-based sensors;
- Digital agriculture;
- Algorithms based on machine learning methods and artificial intelligence for smart irrigation;
- Crop monitoring using AI and the IoT technique;
- Battery energy management;
- Energy management for smart irrigation system powered by renewable energy sources (RES) ;
- Smart monitoring systems.
